Classical music refers to all music played in the royal court and among the civilian upper class, including ceremonial music, annual music, and elegant music.

Folk music encompasses folk songs, pansori, ballads, sanjo, and shamanic music.

Korean traditional music features the five-note scale and rich rhythms characteristic of East Asian music and expresses emotions and sentiment in detail.

Korean traditional art often features depictions influenced by exchanges with China.

Korean traditional dance includes Jinju Geommu, Taepyeongmu, Buchaechum, and Ganggangsullae.

Korean Traditional Clothing

Korean traditional clothing, unique to the Korean people, is also called hanbok.

Hanbok reflects the socio-cultural, economic, and political characteristics of Korea from the Three Kingdoms period to the Joseon Dynasty.

Hanbok is centered around jeogori (jacket), baji (pants), chima (skirt), and durumagi (overcoat), with accessories such as gwanmo (hat), dae (belt), and hwa (shoes) added.

Hanbok was designed to suit the living environment with ondol (underfloor heating) to warm homes during cold winters and daecheongmaru (wooden verandas) to stay cool during summers.

Nowadays, hanbok is worn mainly on holidays or special occasions, and everyday hanbok has also been popularized.
